Column: Reflections from Four Years on Gentile’s Press Row

If you’re reading this on the day it’s published, tonight is my final men’s basketball game in sitting on press row in Gentile Arena.

It’s hard not to think about all my lasts — my last press conference in Norville, my last time hearing Sister Jean’s pregame prayer and my last time listening to “Sweet Home Chicago” as I walk out.

I also can’t stress how fortunate I am that this is the Gentile atmosphere that I had through my college years. I’ve never been at a home game where the air felt anything other than electric, but that wasn’t always the case for Loyola fans.
