Clayton Custer Wins National Three-Point Competition

Although Loyola couldn’t make it back to the NCAA Tournament this season, Clayton Custer will bring home some hardware prior to the Final Four.

Custer won the State Farm Men’s Three-Point Competition Thursday night — a national competition that features eight players from around the country. Other notable players to participate in the event over the last 30 years include Steve Nash and former Chicago Bulls guard and Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Player of the Year Kyle Korver, who ranks fifth on the NBA’s all-time three-point list.

Wofford College guard Fletcher Magee — who, in this year’s NCAA Tournament, broke the all-time record for made three-pointers in NCAA history — participated in this year’s event, but was knocked out in the semifinals.
