Women’s volleyball fall short of comeback victory against Gonzaga

Women’s volleyball lost to Gonzaga in five sets on Saturday afternoon. The Lions (19-8, 9-7 WCC) forced a fifth set in Saturday’s match but still were unable to overcome an early deficit to Gonzaga (10-18, 7-10 WCC) at Gersten Pavilion by scores of 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 23-25, and 16-14.

One of the leaders of Saturday afternoon’s match was senior opposite Sara Kovac. Kovac led all players with 23 kills on 54 swings, and also added 10 digs to record a double-double. Sophomore outside hitter Meredith Teague and junior outside hitter Savannah Slattery both recorded double digit kills.
