Women’s beach volleyball predicted to finish third in conference, 15th nationally

The women’s beach volleyball team was selected to place third in the West Coast Conference this upcoming season, according to the 2019 West Coast Conference Preseason Poll, released Wednesday. The poll, which is voted on by the league’s head coaches, placed LMU with 27 total votes, behind Saint Mary’s (30 votes) and Pepperdine (36 votes).

Three Lions earned spots on the All-WCC Preseason Beach Volleyball Team, which was also released Wednesday. Senior Sara Kovac and juniors Jessie Prichard and Savannah Slattery made the ten-person list as a result of their strong play last spring.

Last season, Slattery advanced to the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships where she and then-fifth year senior Maddie Leiphardt earned a win in pool play before falling to Cadie Bates and Katie Smith from the University of South Carolina.
