Takeaways: Beach Volleyball falls to No. 1 UCLA

The No. 13 ranked LMU beach volleyball team (17-8 overall) lost 0-5 against the No. 1 ranked UCLA Bruins on Tuesday. The Lions entered the game on a four-match winning streak, making this their first loss since playing No. 17 ranked Cal Poly. Here are the takeaways from Tuesday’s match.

3. Lions are no match for UCLA

This was the Lions' second loss of the season in which they got swept, their first since their March 13 loss to then No. 5 ranked Pepperdine. The doubles pairs of freshman Ella Boehle and junior Emma Doud, junior Savannah Slattery and sophomore Reka Orsi Toth, senior Veronica Nederend and sophomore Erin Martin, graduate student Megan Nash and redshirt sophomore Bo Culo and senior Sara Kovac and sophomore Jessie Prichard all fell to the opposing members of the top-ranked Bruins.
