The women’s volleyball team lost to No.1 Stanford (30-1) in the second round of the 2018 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship on Saturday in three sets. The loss eliminated the Lions from the tournament, but not before defeating Duke in the first round.
The Cardinal powerhouse toppled LMU, 25-20, 25-15, 25-17. While the scoring was close in the first game, Stanford pulled ahead to win the first game and kept LMU far enough behind to defeat them in the next two.
“They have a couple athletes that we just don't have answers for yet, so they kind of had their way with us,” said Mansfield.
