The Louisville Cardinals have effectively taken themselves out of contention for a spot in the College Football Playoff this season, suffering their third loss of the season to the Clemson Tigers. The Cardinals have no one to blame but themselves as they committed 10 penalties throughout the game, but seven of them came at the most critical time in the fourth quarter.
Louisville had numerous opportunities to mount a comeback against a 4-5 Clemson team that has struggled a lot this season, but the Cardinals couldn't get out of their own way. It is clear everyone was frustrated in that Louisville locker room, starting with head coach Jeff Brohm, all the way to quarterback Miller Moss.
