Eric van der Heijden, a four-star forward out of Raleigh, announced Friday afternoon that he will be playing his college basketball for Chris Mack at Louisville.
Heijden picked the Cardinals over a host of potential suitors, including Maryland, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Marquette and Texas. He becomes the third member of Louisville’s 2021 recruiting class, joining small forward Bryce Hopkins from Chicago and four-star point guard Bobby Pettiford Jr. out of Creedmoor, N.C.
Standing 6’9 and weighing 205-pounds, Heijden’s primary asset is his versatility.
