Congrats to Donovan Mitchell, who kicked of the 2018 ESPYs by bringing home the award for Best Breakthrough Athlete.
The former Cardinal/current Utah Jazz star beat out Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers, Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints, and women’s tennis star Sloane Stephens.
He looked damn good doing it too.
Sort of weird that the best “breakthrough” athlete in all of sports wasn’t even voted as the top rookie in his specific sport, but that’s a discussion for a past day.
Congrats to Donovan on yet another award. What a year.
