Louisville basketball fans learned that 5-star Taylen Kinney officially committed to the Kansas Jayhawks over the Louisville Cardinals this afternoon. Kinney was ranked as high as No. 13 in the nation and the top point guard, and despite Louisville being a heavy favorite in late June and early August, Kansas made a late push and swiped him right from Louisville's backyard.
Kinney is a native of Newport, Kentucky, and is ranked as the second-best Kentucky native prospect in the 2026 cycle. The Cardinals fans are heartbroken after striking out on Kinney. However, Kelsey has always had a trick up his sleeve, and the fans trust he will make some magic happen.
