RUSTON, La. -- Anthony Duruji made two free throws in the final second to give Louisiana Tech a 66-65 win over North Texas in Conference USA action on Thursday night.
Roosevelt Smart nailed two straight 3-pointers, hitting the last one with 7.4 seconds remaining, to give North Texas a 65-64 advantage. A.J. Lawson fouled Duruji and the 6-foot-7 freshman calmly dropped in both free throws for the win.
Louisiana Tech was ahead 29-25 at the break. Smart, who hit seven treys, nailed one with 14:33 left in the game to give North Texas a 42-40 lead.
