The Warhawks closed out their four-game home stand on a positive note against Jackson State. The final score was 65-52 bringing the Warhawks to 3-3 on the season.
“We played really hard tonight, I like how physical we were down the stretch to close out the game,” head coach Keith Richard said. He made it clear that against a team like the Tigers, he wanted to play the toughest players on the team.
The Tigers went on a 5-0 run that cut the lead to single digits late in the second half. Good defense and clock management won the game for the Warhawks, as senior guard Sam McDaniel connected on a go ahead dunk to seal the win
“It is good to get one like this,” McDaniel said.
