MONROE, La. – Nathan Pugh’s homer in the bottom of the fifth, his first of the season, gave ULM the lead for good in a 10-7 win over Jackson State Tuesday night at Warhawk Field.
Jackson State (17-12) made an early move with four runs in the top of the second, all after the first two batters were retired. Three straight singles brought in the game’s first run and a hit-by-pitch followed. Copeland then doubled down the left field line to make it a 4-0 game.
The Warhawks (11-18) came right back with their own two-out rally.
