MONROE, La. – The ULM softball team claimed its first Sun Belt Conference series of the season when it split a doubleheader against South Alabama on Saturday, April 20. The Warhawks fell 11-2 (six innings) in the second game of the series, first of the doubleheader, before posting a 12-9 victory in Game 2 to earn their ninth win of the season.
Game 2: ULM 12, South Alabama 9
ULM (9-35, 5-16 Sun Belt) rebounded from a setback in the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader by putting together a seven-run first inning.
Trailing 3-0 heading into the home half of first, due in large part to a bases-clearing triple by South Alabama's Abby Krzywiecki, Jayden Mount tied the game with a three-run home run to center field that plated both Korie Kreps and Sydney McKay.
