MONROE, La. – Louisiana Monroe head softball coach Corey Lyon, who led the Warhawks to 33 wins and the program's first-ever postseason tournament appearance in 2017, has announced the promotion of Jessica (Guy) Thornton to a full-time assistant coach position along with the hiring of graduate assistants Melanie Coyne and Shelby Miller.
“These three coaches bring an enthusiasm and excitement for the game both on and off the field,” Lyon said.
During her tenure at ULM, Thornton has made both an offensive and defensive impact on the program. As the primary base-running instructor, she coached the Warhawks to 122 stolen bases, placing ULM in the top 15 among all Division I programs.
