JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Senior Kalena Caruthers and red-shirt sophomore Catherine Griffith combined for 15 kills to lead the University of Louisiana Monroe volleyball team to its third-straight sweep, defeating North Carolina A&T, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-17), Saturday morning (Sept. 9) in the Jefferson's & State Farm Invitational. The Warhawks (3-8) opened tournament play Friday with straight-set victories over Mississippi Valley and Alcorn State.
Caruthers recorded a team-best eight kills while hitting .316 (8-2-19) for the match. Two other Warhawks hit better than .360 for the match, including seniors Taylor Wood .
