MONROE, La. – The ULM soccer team fell in its Sun Belt home opener to Georgia State by a final score of 1-0 on Friday, Sept. 22.
In the middle of the second half, GSU (3-6-1) freshmen forward Kayla Ruiz cashed in on a rebound opportunity in the 76th minute, which gave her team the advantage and eventually the win.
The goal forced ULM (0-10-1) to press for the rest of the game and while the team did generate late chances, the players were unable to capitalize.
"We have to be more clinical on shots," ULM head coach said.
