ULM Evens Weekend Series Saturday; Herrera Ties Program Record

STATESBORO, Ga. – The ULM baseball team used early offense to take control of the game and held on late as the Warhawks grabbed a 5-4 victory over Georgia Southern on Saturday to even the team’s weekend series. ULM closer Anthony Herrera notched his fourth save of the season and his 20th career save in the win, tying Mark Wisniewski for the most career saves in program history.

TURNING POINT

-After Georgia Southern posted two runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut the ULM lead to one run, Herrera and the Warhawks got out of the jam and left two runners stranded to end the frame before ULM worked around a leadoff single in the ninth as Herrera struck out the final two batters to secure the win.
