The state of Georgia has been kind to the ULM softball team. The Warhawks won a series against Georgia Southern earlier this season and took game one over Georgia State this past weekend.
The Warhawks (22-28; 5-14) hosted the Panthers (17-31; 6-13) in a weekend conference series in Monroe. Georgia State came into the weekend after a series loss that included a doubleheader. ULM went in losing seven straight with two straight sweeps in conference series matchups.
In the first inning of Friday night’s game, both teams went three-up, three-down. The Panthers and Warhawks both put runners on base in the second, but they left them stranded with a foul-out for Georgia State and a double play for ULM.
