SAN MARCOS, Texas – Freshman right-hander Adrianna Chavarria recorded a career-high eight strikeouts en route to her second-straight shutout in the Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship and Jayden Mount delivered a three-run homer in the top of the 10th inning as No. 8-seed ULM upset No. 2-seed Troy, 3-0, on Thursday, May 9.
For the second time in as many starts, Chavarria was matched against an All-Sun Belt First-Team pitcher, in Troy's Leanna Johnson.
ULM (13-41) put on at least one base runner in each of the first six innings, but the Warhawks went 0-for-8 at the plate with runners in scoring position.
