MONROE, La. – ULM fifth-year senior outfielder Gino Marucci – who hit .600 (9-of-15), scored seven runs and drove in five runs to help the Warhawks to a perfect 4-0 record for the week, including a three-game sweep against Georgia State – has been selected Sun Belt Player of the Week. Three of his nine hits went for extra bases.
Marucci went 3-for-4, including a two-run triple, and scored two runs in ULM's 16-2 non-conference win over Grambling State last Tuesday.
In Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, he went 2-for-4, including an RBI double in the seventh in the Warhawks' 9-6 win over Georgia State.
