Monroe, La. – The Sun Belt Conference announced Wednesday afternoon that ULM senior Petra Horakova has been named Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for her performance in Saturday's win over Tulane.
Horakova's nod is the first player of the week honor for the Warhawks since Martina Husarova won it last March.Luana Stanciu also won the weekly award last season.
Horakova, a senior from Trnava, Slovakia, opened Saturday with a doubles win with teammate Stefana Andrei over the 76th-ranked doubles team to give the Warhawks their lone win in doubles action over Tulane. She later helped clinch the match for the Warhawks when she won her singles match 6-4,7-5 to remain unbeaten in the dual season.
