CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Despite getting three total home runs, including two from Spencer Hemphill, ULM dropped a 15-7 decision to Western Carolina Saturday afternoon at Childress Field / Hennon Stadium.
Western Carolina (1-4) got things going first with a trio of runs in the bottom of the first inning. Garrett Brown led off the frame with a solo homer while Kramer Ferrell and Bryson Bowman picked up a single RBI to give the Catamounts a 3-0 lead.
ULM (2-3) responded with a pair of runs in the top of the second. Spencer Hemphill drew a walk to start the inning and then with one out, Jacob Stockton delivered his second homer of the weekend, this time clearing the wall in left center to pull the Warhawks within one run at 3-2.
