MONROE, La. – Senior Madalina Grigoriu and the duo of junior Jimena Paula Garbino and senior Brianna Gomez won bracket championships on the final day of the 2021 Warhawk Invitational Saturday at Heard Stadium.
Grigoriu, who won all of her singles matches in the fall of 2020, finished another perfect weekend in tournament play to open 2021. She won the Gold Bracket by topping Arkansas State's Hunter Roper, 6-4, 6-1.
Also in the Gold Bracket, sophomore Hala Badwy was third after beating Southeastern's Putri Insani, 6-2, 6-3.
