Fast Start, Strong Finish Push Warhawks Past Northwestern State

MONROE, La. – A fast start and a strong finish helped the ULM women's basketball team to lead wire-to-wire, holding off a Northwestern State rally in the middle, for the 63-55 win Monday night at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Head coach Brooks Donald Williams says closing the game out was a positive step.

"I thought it was really big for the growth of our program moving forward," Williams said. "We're proud of our girls."

The Warhawks opened quickly, going on a 7-0 run to begin the game. Whitney Goins opened with a 3-pointer, while Diamond Brooks and Lauren Fitch followed with buckets for the early advantage.
