MONROE, La. – ULM freshman quarterback Caleb Evans can add another award to his week as he has been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Player of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday morning. The honor comes one day after Evans was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Evans tossed three touchdown passes in Saturday’s 42-35 overtime win over South Alabama, a mark that is tied for the most by a Warhawk quarterback making his first start, and is the first time any ULM quarterback has thrown for three or more touchdowns since Kolton Browning threw five touchdowns in October 2013.
