Arkansas State used an early 8-0 run to take a 12-4 lead, thanks to Norchad Omier's rebound goal with 15:16 left in the first half. The Red Wolves collected seven offensive rebounds in the first 4 1/2 minutes while ULM experienced a scoring drought that lasted more than 6 minutes.
Luke Phillips' 3-pointer from the left wing sparked a 14-2 run as the Warhawks turned a seven-point deficit (13-6) into a 20-15 lead on a layup by Josh Nicholas, off a nifty cross-court pass from Elijah Gonzales with 7:23 remaining in the first half.
