MONROE, La. – Big throws, coupled with big swings earned junior Alton Clay Jr. from the ULM track and field program and Amye Barre from the softball squad Warhawk Male and Female of the Week honors, respectively, announced Tuesday.
Clay, a junior, posted a huge outing for ULM in two different events, setting a personal-record in each on Saturday at Mississippi State’s Jace LaCoste Invite. Clay was crowned champion of the discus after tallying a 54.42m which smashed his previous best of 51.16m. He followed it up with a second-place finish of 58.43m in the hammer.
