2nd-quarter shortcomings cause road-trip sweep

Poor shooting, turnovers and the second quarter caused the Warhawks to add to their losing streak and conclude the regular season on a sour note.

ULM (7-22; 3-15) ended its regular season with a road trip, with its first stop being a visit to the Red Wolves of Arkansas State (11-18; 6-12). The Warhawks took the first matchup in Monroe in their conference opener 81-66.

In the first quarter, the two teams traded blows, with no one having a clear advantage. Emma Merriweather made a free throw to give ULM a one-point lead, but a Red Wolves layup with 29 seconds left put Arkansas State back on top with a 19-18 score.
