NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field athletes Alena Hrusoci and Morgann Leleux were named on Thursday as the Sun Belt Conference Student-Athletes of the Week in a release by the conference office.
Hrusoci, a sophomore from Cakovec, Croatia, was named the Sun Belt Female Track Student-Athlete of the Week after becoming the first female athlete in school history to break the 1-minute barrier in the women's 400-meter hurdles. Hrusoci, who ranks 37th nationally in the 400-meter hurdles, clocked a time of 58.73 seconds to finish first overall at the LSU Alumni Gold, breaking her previous record (1:00.
