LAFAYETTE – Junior Todd Lott became the first Ragin' Cajun selected during the 2019 MLB Draft after he was taken in the ninth round (275th overall) by the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday afternoon.
With Lott's selection, Louisiana has now had at least one player picked in the MLB Draft in every year during the Tony Robichaux era. In all, 67 players have been drafted under Robichaux.
"We are all extremely proud of Todd and everything that he has been able to accomplish," Robichaux said. "He had a stellar junior season and was able to really elevate his game.
