BATON ROUGE – Bartul Basic recorded a career-best in the men's javelin, posting a throw of 231 feet, 7 inches, while Taylor Walker and Hanoj Carter each turned in first-place performances to lead the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team on Saturday at the LSU Alumni Gold at Bernie Moore Stadium.
Lindsay LaGarde and Franz Bayer each recorded second-place finishes in their respective events for Louisiana with Claire Meyers setting a personal-best in the women's javelin.
Basic, who entered the meet as the top-ranked javelin thrower in the Sun Belt Conference, eclipsed his previous best (227-11) set last month at the McNeese Cowboy Relays.
