It took the Southeastern baseball team a little over 30 minutes after the first pitch to build a 2-0 lead on Louisiana-Lafayette, and for the next three hours, the Cajuns were playing catch-up.
The only problem was there was no catching the Lions on Saturday at Pat Kenelly Diamond in Hammond.
Southeastern took game two of the nonconference weekend series 16-5 after an explosive first inning, which set into motion a long night for the Cajuns.
Cajuns starting pitcher Wyatt Marks never got comfortable in Hammond as Lions freshman shortstop led off the bottom of the first with a line drive single past the outstretched glove of Cajuns shortstop Brad Antchak.
