LAFAYETTE – Taylor Schneider took a free kick pass from Tayler Carter in the 30th minute and chipped the ball into the upper right corner of the goal to lead Arkansas State to a 1-0 win over Louisiana in a Sun Belt Conference soccer match on Friday evening at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility.
Arkansas State (4-6-3, 2-4-1) had a solid defensive stand in the second half and goalkeeper Kelsey Ponder recorded five saves to help the Red Wolves defeat the Ragin' Cajuns.
Louisiana (6-7-1, 2-3-1 SBC) held a 12-9 advantage in shots, but couldn't get a ball past Ponder.
