Soccer: Cajuns Get Record-Setting Performance In 10-0 Win Over Alcorn State

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team set four single-match school-records and tied a school record for goals scored in defeating Alcorn State, 10-0, in the home-opener on Sunday at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility.

The Ragin' Cajuns (1-1) scored three goals in a 5:31 span early in the first half to take a 3-0 lead in the 16th minute. Louisiana set single-match school-records for shots (39), points scored (30), shots on goal (25) and assists (10) in claiming its home opener against Alcorn (0-1).

Louisiana senior forward Annika Schmidt scored in the 11th minute off an assist from sophomore defender Rebecca Foley and senior midfielder Yazmin Montoya.
