ATLANTA — Shellie Landry hit her 50th career home run, and Alex Stewart and Victoria Brown combined for the pitching staff’s 15th shutout as the No. 5 University of Louisiana at Lafayette softball team beat Georgia State 12-0 in five innings Sunday at Bob Heck Field.
Landry’s 3-run homer was the highlight of a six-run outburst for the Ragin’ Cajuns (32-3, 13-1 Sun Belt) in the second inning.
The Cajuns completed a three-game sweep of the Panthers (19-22).
UL-Lafayette had 10 hits, led by two apiece from Haley Hayden (2-for-4, 2 runs), Taylor Terrio (2-for-3, 1 RBI) and Aleah Craighton (2x2, homer, 2 runs).
