LAFAYETTE, La. – Senior left-hander Colten Schmidt became the fourth Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns player to be taken in the 2018 MLB First Year Players' Draft on Wednesday as he was selected in the 23rd round by the Colorado Rockies.
"I'm proud of Colten as he will have the chance to live out a childhood dream and play professional baseball," head coach Tony Robichaux said. "It's an honor to see yet another player from our program get drafted this year and Colten has been very deserving after the season that he had.
