LAFAYETTE — Louisiana-Lafayette’s 2016 football schedule has nearly been finalized, as the Sun Belt Conference released the conference opponents for each team Friday afternoon.
The only thing that remains unclear for the Cajuns is when they will play those opponents.
The two new opponents on the schedule this year are Idaho and Georgia Southern, who replace Georgia State and Troy in the Cajuns’ rotation.
This marks the first time in program history the Cajuns will get to play Georgia Southern, which has made some waves by going 14-2 against SBC opponents since it moved up from the SBC level for the 2014 season.
