LAFAYETTE — Former Louisiana-Lafayette star Shawn Long was not selected in Thursday’s NBA draft.
Going into the draft, the 6-foot-11 forward was considered a possible late second-round pick.
Long decided last April to return for his senior season and wrapped up his four-year career as arguably the most productive player in Ragin’ Cajuns and Sun Belt Conference history.
He pulled down a Sun Belt record 1,447 rebounds and scored 2,442 points in his career, averaging a double-double in each of his four seasons. He was at his best as a senior, earning conference Player of the Year honors as he averaged 18.
