Ragin’ Cajuns fall 3-2 at Georgia Southern

STATESBORO, Ga. — Georgia Southern took the lead with two runs in the fifth inning and then held on for a 3-2 Sun Belt Conference win over UL-Lafayette on Saturday.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (20-11, 9-5 SBC) had a chance to tie the game when Stefan Trosclair reached third base with one out in the ninth inning, but Trosclair was thrown out at the plate after Brad Antchak hit a grounder to Eagles second baseman Cal Baker.

Brenn Conrad flew out to right field to end the game.

Georgia Southern (18-13, 7-7) limited UL-Lafayette to two runs on six hits thanks to the efforts of Chase Cohen and Connor Simmons.
