LAFAYETTE – A day after sweeping the doubleheader against Jackson State, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team picked up two more shutout wins against Alcorn State in Sunday's doubleheader at Cajun Courts.
After dropping its first two matches to open the season, Louisiana (5-2) posted a pair of identical 4-0 victories against the Braves to win its fifth straight match while helping head coach Mark Jeffrey move into second place on the school's all-time list in victories.
Jeffrey, in his ninth year as head coach, increased his career record to 120-82, moving past Gary Albertine (119 wins, 1983-88) into second place and behind Jerry Simmons (202, 1973-82).
