WACO, Texas – An early lead would stand for North Texas in the second matchup of the day with 10th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball at the Baylor Invitational as the Mean Green captured a 5-1 win in the bracket semifinals.
Similar to the contest earlier in the day the Mean Green (9-4) plated two runs in the first inning, benefitting from a Lacy Gregory home run. Starting pitcher Hope Trautwein, who held the Ragin' Cajuns to three hits, prevented a comeback from Louisiana (14-1) this time.
The loss snapped the Ragin' Cajuns season-opening winning streak at 14 games.
