NCAA postpones decision on Cajuns violations

LAFAYETTE – The NCAA was going to release its ruling on alleged violations committed by former Louisiana-Lafayette assistant coach David Saunders Friday morning, and then at the last minute, the NCAA reversed course.

A Friday morning email said the NCAA decision was set to be released by the NCAA at 11 a.m., with subsequent press conferences set for noon and 1:30 p.m. But shortly after 11 a.m., the NCAA announced “the Committee on Infractions call will be rescheduled for a later date.” No future date was determined.

The NCAA decision will be based off an investigation that started in 2013 into alleged impropriety by Saunders while on the Cajuns coaching staff.
