LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis program announced Monday that the team's home-opening Winter Classic tournament scheduled for Jan. 21-22 at Cajun Courts has been canceled due to forecasted cold temperatures associated with an incoming cold front.
Louisiana (1-1) was set to host Nicholls, Tyler Junior College and Xavier (La.) in its Spring 2022 home debut.
With temperatures expected be in the upper-20s and lower-30s to start the day on both Friday (Jan. 21) and Saturday (Jan. 22) and reach only the mid-40s, the coaching staffs of the participating teams agreed the weather conditions would not be suitable for competition.
