LAFAYETTE, La. – The Home Run Challenge, a fundraising campaign for M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park, reached home plate two weeks early, Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Director of Athletics Dr. Bryan Maggard announced on Monday.
But the Home Run Challenge isn't over yet. Donations for the baseball stadium challenge will be accepted until Aug. 15.
The campaign received support from 502 donors and achieved a total of $100,000 in challenge gifts, surpassing the goal organizers set when the fundraiser began in late March.
"On behalf of myself, our coaching staff and team, we want to thank everyone that stepped up to the plate and gave to the home run challenge," head coach Tony Robichaux said.
