LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball sophomore pitcher Summer Ellyson has claimed the final Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week award for the 2018 season.
Ellyson received her third weekly award from the Sun Belt. She was also named pitcher of the week on Feb. 20 after wins over Oregon State and then-No. 2 Florida and on April 24 after winning the series clincher vs. Texas State and pitching 25 innings of one-run softball.
In the regular-season ending series vs. ULM, Ellyson pitched 19 innings of scoreless softball over two appearances highlighted by a 14-inning, complete game shutout on Friday in the series opener.
