GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Freshman Hannes Burger posted one of four top-20 finishes for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field team after a 15th-place performance in the men's 1,500-meters on Friday at the Pepsi Florida Relays at Percy Beard Track, located inside James G. Pressly Stadium.
Burger, making his 2019 debut in the 1,500 meters, crossed the finish line in 3 minutes, 50.30 seconds to record the fourth-fastest time in school history and the best time in the Sun Belt Conference this season. Teammate Jonathan Kimutai finished 16th overall for Louisiana in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a season-best time (9:36.
