WACO, Texas – Both the No. 4 Louisiana-Lafayette softball team and No. 19 Baylor made early leads stand up as they split a doubleheader Tuesday night.
Baylor scored two runs in the third inning on a double from Shelby Friudenberg, and Heather Stearns protected the lead as the Bears prevailed 2-0 in the opener.
Louisiana-Lafayette got a two-out grand slam from Kelsey Vincent in the fifth inning of Game 2 to end a scoreless duel between Alex Stewart and Kendall Potts, and Stewart stranded the tying run in the sixth and seventh as the Ragin’ Cajuns won the nightcap 4-3.
