LAFAYETTE — Mental study and physical recovery were the two orders of business for the Louisiana-Lafayette softball team Monday.
Players used whatever means necessary to get around the athletic complex in the aftermath of Sunday’s 9-8, nine-inning Lafayette regional championship clincher over Texas A&M. That meant moving around on their knees or jokingly rolling on the grass at a good pace on the way to the next commitment. Teammates were quick to provide verbal support that ranged from “You can do it!” to “You’re almost there!”
Coach Mike Lotief said it all comes with the territory.
“The celebration is over,” he said.
