Cajuns softball lands No. 14 seed, will host Boston University to open NCAA regional that features Texas and Texas A&M

LAFAYETTE — The Louisiana-Lafayette softball squad’s path to Oklahoma City will start with a decidedly Texas flavor.

The Cajuns will take on Boston University at 6 p.m. Friday in a regional-round matchup within a four-team group that also includes Texas A&M and Texas. The Cajuns were awarded the No. 14 national seed, which means they host in the regional round and would hit the road for a potential super regional matchup. They’re paired with No. 3 seed Oklahoma.

That Lone Star State theme was exciting for at least one Cajuns senior: catcher Lexie Elkins, a Victoria, Texas, native.
